A few years ago, Meredith Leigh and I, founded The Fermentation School, an online learning platform. We are passionate about sharing knowledge pertaining to the importance and accessibility of fermentation in the food system. Over this time, we have welcomed a dozen creators into this teaching space. Creators who are good at teaching the concepts of fermentation as a way of empowering people to gain skills but also as a way of making connections between people, community, and the planet.
We love offering individual courses, but we also realized that many of our students wanted to forge deeper connections with like-minded folx across the world. Last year we decided it was time to take a step to build a subscriber-based community. It took us months of both visioning exercises and conversations with creators and students to build something that was accessible, sustainable from a time and energy standpoint, and fun.
